I wanted to make something for a little girl’s birthday present. Her mummy gave me some white yarn which she originally wanted to make a blanket for this little girl but it never eventuated so I wanted to make something to gift her with this yarn and voila – a crochet clutch bag
A friend posted a photo of a turtle neck poncho by The Velvet Acorn on my Facebook page and I fell in love with it. I decided to knit one for my little girl with a modified neckline as she’s not a fan of turtle neck. This is my first time knitting without a pattern
My son has been invited to a nerf gun party so we’re in search of the best ways to store his bullets supplies.
I found an incomplete knitting project where I had a 3 inch piece of ribbing (k2 p2). So I decided to try to use it to create a cross body holster. crocheted and made the individual bullet slots.
We recently celebrated my son’s birthday with a backyard outdoor movie! I had so much fun organising this evening. We had all the treats that goes with a movie night – popcorn, lolly bar, chips & party food
Signs were printed in & put in photo frames for effect
We used a white queen sheet as our screen
I love celebrating but it’s always a juggle to keep to budget. One thing I do to cut cost is by hand making decorations. There’s so much you can do with coloured paper & colour printer.
My daughter turned 4 earlier this year and all she wanted was a ‘Dora party’ so off I went in search of templates online that I can use to create the Dora theme.
I found a couple of sites with downloadable templates to print invitations, cupcake toppers, banners, water bottle labels, etc
Simple table setting in colour theme
I was thrilled that I was able to use my crochet bunting again from her 1st birthday party
Water bottle labels were printed on paper & glued over existing labels.
We had the party at the park and I decided to try my hand at making a cupcake birthday cake. I was so surprised at how convenient it was, especially at the park
Birthday cupcakes- found cake toppers on ebay for $5
If you’re like me I always forget to bring my canvas shopping bags to the supermarket & end up with a very large stash of plastic bags. Well I decided to recycle them & crocheted a carry bag which is perfect for swimming or for taking to the beach, where I don’t mind it getting wet. It’s my daughters favourite swimming bag.
I was recently commissioned to knit a set of cardigans & booties for a set of twins. I simply love knitting & it was such fun knitting/crocheting these two.
